It is an important source of information on the war and on the affairs of the Duchy of Holstein. Henrik Rantzau was vice-regent of the Duchies Slesvig-Holsten. He resided at his castle in Breitenburg where he had collected a famous library. Wallenstein's soldiers, however, sacked Breitenburg in 1627 and many of his books are now found in Prague. Henrik Rantzau was a very learned man and looked after Tycho Brahe, when he was forced to leave Denmark. Thesaurus 201. Bibl. Dan. III,59. Adams R-143. BMC only the 1570 edition. Nat. Lib.
