Kjent som Recherche-ekspedisjonen, etter ekspedisjonens skip La Recherche. Litografiets motiv ble tegnet da deler av ekspedisjonen var på reise gjennom Finnland, Russland, Tyskland, Danmark og Øst-Europa 1839-1840. *** Lithography from "Atlas historique et pittoresque" in Joseph Paul Gaimard`s "Voyages de la Commission (...) en Scandinavie, en Laponie, au Spitzberg et aux Feröe, pendant les années 1838, 1839 et 1840 (...)." Known as the Recherche-expedition, after the expeditions ship La Recherche. The motive for the lithography was drawn when parts of the expedition went on a journey through Finland, Russia, Germany, Denmark and Eastern Europe 1839-1840.
