¶ First edition.
A set of meteorological observations in Sweden 1859-1918, containing an immense quantity of data arriving from weather stations and individual reporters all over the country. This set of observations of disciplined observers with acces to precise instruments represents the starting point of modern meteorology in Sweden.
Prefaces in Swedish and German, from volume 16 in Swedish and French.
Continued by Sveriges meteorologiska och hydrologiska institut (SMHI), Årsbok 1 [1919] -65 [1983].

"Erik Edlund, Academy the physicist since 1850, had proposed in 1856 that the Academy should organize a program of meteorological activity: all over the country, stations or reporters, would take observations that would be sent to the Aacademy. Edlund himself led this work until 1873, when the meteorological office was set up, and Robert Rubenson became its director. At that time there were approximately 40 weather stations in the country, but by 1890 the number was already 450"(T. Frängsmyr).
