Brown paper boards with litographed tile and a view at the front board. Green cloth spine. Some wear to the board edges. A few minor spots to the boards. Inner front hinge partly cracked. Front fly leaf with some fraying to the margins and foxing. Some spoting and foxing to the margins of the plates. Two plates with a few minor spots in the image area. ¶ A nice collection of views and interiors of Copenhagen from the mid 19th century. Ten of the plates are lithographed by Alexander Nay. He also sketched two of the originals. Nay was a productive and skilled artist. He lithographed many important plate books in Sweden and Denmark. A few swedish examples are "Sverige Framstäldt i Taflor" 1856, "Herregårdar uti Södermanland" 1869, "Uplands Herregårdar" 1881and Upsala framstäldt i Taflor 1870 and 1877. Heinr. Hansen sketched five of the originals. Other artists are Wilhelm Petersen, Emanuel Larsen, Holm and H. C. Stilling. The captions at the plates are in danish, english and french. The plates are: Kjöbenhavn seet fra Valby-Bakke, Toldboden, Kongens Nytorv, Rosenborg Slot, Christiansborg Slot, Börsen, Börssalen i Kjöbenhavn, Thorvaldsens Museum, Universitetet, Portalen til Frue Kirke, Det indre af Frue Kirke, Vor Freleseres Kirke. This book may also have been published with the title "Prospecter af Kjöbenhavn".
