¶ A beautiful (probably) color printed engraving from the famous swedish work "Svensk Ornithologie" (Swedish Ornithology). .A complete copy contains 68 hand colored and color printed engravings of swedish birds. (Two more plates are known in just a few copies). The book was created by Anders Sparrman, the well known swedish naturalist who sailed with captain Cook on his second voyage. In 1786-1789 Sparrman published a folio work on birds from around the world containing 100 hand colored and color printed engravings. Both bird books are of great rarity. Loose plates are uncommon.
