A serie of four independent parts of colour plate books executed by Billmark containing 42 plates altogether. The work depicts Stockholm, Uppsala, old Sigtuna and the castles of Gripsholm and Skokloster. The plates were printed by Lemercier in Paris, the leading lithographic print shop in Europe at the time. Billmark is the greatest lithographic artist Sweden has possesed. He was first educated in Forsells engraving school in Stockholm, but soon turned to lithography and continued his education and work in Paris, where he lived most of his life.
