Lambert, Chez Onfroy & Née de la Rochelle, MDCCLXXXIV (1784) Two 8o-volumes in contemporary half leather bindings with spines nicely gilt ornamented and red and green morocco title-labels. Boards splashed and red edges. Slightly rubbed boards and mildly bumped corners, but a fine set. Title-pages with old, autographed, names, first empty endpapers with stamped name. Endpapers with brown spots in corners and a few pages with small inkspots in lower margin. Else more occasional spots in margins. One page in the second volume with small paperlosses in one margin, no text is missing. (IV), 510 pages, (II) + IV, 504 pages. Most often this title is published in three volumes.However, in the permission to print signed by Terrasson in the first volume he says that he has read the first and the second volume of this title. If printed a third volume it was published later.
