¶ 4 first editions by Euler. In the first two he treats musical theory by mathematical means. The third deals with optical problems by way of mathematics. In the last he applies the mathematical apparatus of hydrodynamics, a science he created earlier in 1753 and 1755, to special problems of vessels moving in water.
