København, Akademisk Arkitektforening by Chr. Cato 1929. Stort format (23,5 x 31,5 cm or app 9 x 12 inches). Original omslag. Lidt slitage ved ryg og rifter i kanten af omslag og lidt alderspletter men i øvrigt ren og meget velbevaret. Komplet.

1st printing. Very rare item indeed - some foxing and minor small tears to cover edge and wear to spine but solid. Overall very good copy, well preserved and clean inside. "Ib Andersen (Danish, 1907-1969) was barely out of school when he designed the poster, which also adorns the cover of the present original catalogue, to promote the 1929 exhibition of Buildings and Homes in Copenhagen, Denmark. The exhibition was a significant one, as it featured a built model of the “House of the Future,” as designed by Arne Jacobsen (Danish, 1902-71) and Flemming Lassen (Danish, 1902-1984). While the single-family “House of the Future” was among the most impactful presentations of the exhibition, it was just one of many proposed dwellings on display. Andersen’s poster featured a more generic illustration of urban apartment buildings instead of any particular exhibited project. The image, nods to two significant movements of the avant-garde: a Bauhaus inspired cityscape is punctuated by the primary color palette of the de Stijl school. While Andersen trained as an architect, he found his calling in the graphic arts. He continued to create posters and other advertisements throughout his career. However, from the mid-1920s until 1960, Andersen produced regular illustrations for Politiken, the leading Danish daily newspaper, and it was through this work that he established himself as a household name" (Caitlin Condell). This copy comes from the collection of Danish architect Kay Fisker but is not signed. Kay Fisker was onme of the main architects behind the exhibition. More photos available upon request!

Lippard, Lucy R.:
Kirkegaards Antikvariat

New Press, 2014. Trade paperback. 208 p. Clean copy / as new. First edition. “A marvelous slim book [that] weaves . . . ideas, facts, images, and histories into a whole about . . . the ecology of the manmade world.” —Rebecca Solnit. .- Working from her own experience of life in a New Mexico village, and inspired by the gravel pits in the surrounding landscape, Lippard addresses a number of fascinating themes—including fracking, mining, land art, adobe buildings, ruins, Indian land rights, the Old West, tourism, photography, and water. In her meditations, she illuminates the relationship between culture, industry, and the land. From threatened Native American sacred sites to the history of uranium mining, she offers a skeptical examination of the “subterranean economy.” Featuring more than two hundred images, Undermining offers a provocative new perspective on the relationship between art and place in a rapidly shifting society.
