Första bladen med små maskhål, mest marginella. Försättsblad med två äldre namnteckningar, eftersättblad med ett flertal anteckningar, bl.a en sida om orgeln i S:t Petri kyrka i Malmö. Huvudsakligen en ren och snygg inlaga. Hülphers faktaspäckade historik har enligt Tobias Norlind berättigat honom att bli kallad den svenska musikforskningens fader.

Unfortunately the leaf with printed dedication and portrait is missing from this copy. Covers with some soiling, lower cover of vol. 1 slightly damaged, last leaves of vol. 2 stained. Engraved title mounted. Title-page with old signature: Lars Klase. Overall still a very good copy. Parallel columns of Greek and Latin text.

Dublin, William Porter 1803 First edition Engraved frontispiece, VII, (blank), 55 (2), List of subscribers, 4 pp. Contemporary marbled wrappers. Minor foxing to endpapers, else is content clean. The wrappers are worn and ocassionally chipped, front wrapper is partly detached from spine. Overall a good and rather well preserved copy. Irish vicar and playwright Matthew West (1749-1814) produced three tragedies, two of which were unstaged, a collection of poetry, and a lengthy compilation of sermons. Female Heroism, A Tragedy in Five Acts (1803) is West's final and only performed drama, about Charlotte Corday, a figure of the French Revolution. In 1793, she was executed by guillotine for the assassination of Jacobin leader Jean-Paul Marat.

Första delen i ett något senare halvpergamentband med brunröd ryggtiteltikett, andra delen i ett senare, blågrönt halvmarokängband med marmorerade pärmpapper, övre guldsnitt och fyra upphöjda bind samt båda häftesomslagen medbundna. Första delen med något gulnade pärmar och rygg, inlagan med ett par sidor (smutstitelbladet samt sidan VI) delvis loss. Del två med svagt gulnad rygg, i övrigt mycket gott skick. Komplett uppsättning av av Stråles historik över Rörstrands och Mariebergs porslinsfabriker och deras tillverkningar. Ovanlig.

LXIX, (3), 292 pp. Contemporary (publisher's?) cloth, gilt lettering on spine, gilt emblem on upper cover, spine slightly worn, hinges weak, front free end-paper missing. First blank leaf with stamp, two leaves with marginal blind-stamp, a few contemporary oval light stamps (hard to see what it says). This copy have belonged to the British author William Macpeace Thackeray. The half-title bears the inscription: "W.M. Thackeray Esq with the authors compliments", just below the inscription and on title-page there is a small oval blind-stamp (ownership-stamp of Thackeray). Verso of this page is an old inscription in German by a Franz Ludwig Lehmann which says that the book has belonged to Thackeray. Thackeray died late the same year this book was published.

Publisher's red cloth with gilt spine and front board. Book and prints are housed in publisher's blue cloth portfolio with gilt title to spine and "Corneille" gilt on front board. Slight scratches to the gilding, else very good condition. The screenprints are in excellent condition. Poems by Maria Wine in Swedish with French parallell text. Signed by both Wine and Corneille on half title. Limited edition in 150 copies (200 in total), of which this is no 88. With 3 original screenprints ("L'oiseau exotique"; "Doublement féline"; "Après la pluie, le beau temps", all 40x30 cm) by Corneille, printed on Aquarelle Arches Torchon paper.

Contemporary blue boards with sprinkled edges and sparsely gilt spine label. Corners bumped, spine and boards slightly rubbed. Interior with some very occasional foxing and a couple of tiny chips and tears.The plates with some dampstaining (mainly) in the lower margins, plate 12 slightly creased at lower corner. All in all quite an attractive copy, despite the minor remarks. Condition Very Good to VG-. The Philosophical Magazine was founded by Alexander Tilloch in 1798 and is one of the longest-running scientific journals published in English. This is the first volume published, and contains articles on such diverse topics as Humboldt's 'On the Effects of Oxygen in Accelerating Germination', Schrader's 'Description of the Mechanism of a Reflecting Telescope twenty-Six Feet in Length Constructed Near Kiel in Holstein', Abbé Hauy's 'On the Theory of the Structure of Crystals' and many other articles on topics such as zoology, chemistry, physics and botany. With a beautifully hand-coloured plate depicting the 'Jumping Mouse of Canada'.

Pp. 100. First three volumes in contemporary half calf, the next three in similar contemporary half calf, spines gilt. All spines worn and partly damaged. Vol. 4 is unfortunately missing the last 6 pages and a plate, vol. 5 is missing a folding table. Some pencil annotations in margins throughout, some occasional staining, 1 plate in first volume torn. This is the original Swedish edition of Berzelius' famous "Textbook of Chemistry", here without the rare Appendix to vol. 3. Vol. 1 is here in the second edition, corrected and enlarged. The German edition that followed brought the work to the attention of an international public and the work was later published in several languages. This general textbook came to be the primary source of knowledge for the chemists and pharmacists of the period. First three volumes have belonged to the Swedish chemist Carl Palmstedt (1785-1870), friiend of Berzelius and first head of what today is called Chalmers Tekniska Högskola. On first blank of the three volumes he has signed and written "Rese-Exemplar" in ink.

Bandet lite skevt, pergamentet har släppt lite vid bakre pärm, annars ett mycket bra exemplar. Flera var inblandade i denna aldrig avslutade textdel till Dahlbergs Suecia antiqua et hodierna.

Med Julius Lagerhoms exlibris, första blanka bladet med gammal namnteckning. Andra betydligt utvidgade upplagan av Acrels opus magnum, denna upplaga utökad med graverade planscher. Den tyska upplagan har 12 planscher, den tolfte planschen återfinns ibland även i denna andra svenska upplaga men gavs alltså inte ut med denna.
