A fine, clean copy neatly bound in later marbled boards, spine label with title printed in German blackletter type. Scarce work on wooden construction techniques. Third edition, extended with a section on new bridges constructed in Saxony (eight pages including separate title leaf, and four new plates): Flöha-Brücke bei Flöha; die Elbe-Brücken von Wittenberg und Meissen; die Saale-Brücke von Weissenfels. Reuss has an interesting Swedish connection as the construction of the Stage Machinery at the Drottningholm Palace Theatre most likely was based upon Reuss's drawings.

The majority are built in German-speaking countries but there are examples from Paris, London and even Japan (by a Swiss architect).

A good copy with minor external age toning, corner tips of boards lightly scuffed and minor rubbing at extremities. Le Corbusier's typographically most advanced publication, issued to coincide with his "Pavillon des Temps Nouveaux" at the 1937 Paris World Fair. Text and illustrations brilliantly composed into a vivid propaganda work on behalf of modern architecture, and an antiwar plea arguing for the employment of new technology and investments in modern housing and urban design rather than armament.

A well-preserved copy of a rare publication, in a later half grey cloth binding, with minor unobtrusive internal flaws. Mostly award-winning contributions to an architectural wooden house competition, by students or alumni of the Imperial Academy of Arts. An intriguing collection of large elaborately designed villas reflecting the Russian turn-of-the century currents, including designs designated Russian style, Neo-Russian style, Carpathian style, Swiss style, and Norwegian style.

This is no. 4148 of 5250 copies and is signed by twelve of the contributors, including Neil Aspinal, Peter Blake, Eric Clapton, Allen Ginsburg, Allen Jones, George Segal, and Bill Wyman. An anthology of reminiscences of and photographs by the British photographer Michael Cooper (1941-1973), best rembered for his photographs of musicians and other protagonists of the British rock scene 1963-1973 (most notably his many photos of The Rolling Stones) and his cover photo of the Beatles LP 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', but included are also photos of renowned artists and authors. Includes a full index of persons as well as brief biographies of contributors. Forewords by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

Contemporary half green leather with richly gilt spine, marbled edges and endpapers, exterior lightly rubbed. A fine copy with some occasional very light, unobtrusive foxing. An album of attractive views from the Swedish province Östergötland, mainly manors and palatial country estates in picturesque landscape settings, with plate titles and descriptions in Swedish and French. Originally published in nine cahiers, this was the second publication to appear of the monumental series "Fordna och närvarande Sverige" (Ancient and Present Sweden), twelve parts of which were published between 1817 and 1867, the two first parts executed entirely in aquatint.

Contemporary half vellum; a very good copy with small repaired rupture at bottom of spine, the vellum mildly grubby; a few plates evenly browned, some minor occasional foxing. One text leaf missing unless 39/40 was excluded in pagination. A comprehensive collection of elevations, sections, plans and detail drawings displaying "the best old and modern edifices" of Florence, with emphasis on Renaissance architecture. In 1865 Florence had been designated capital of the unified Kingdom of Italy, and extensive redevelopments were made in an effort to modernise the city. According to the preface, one purpose of the publication was to serve as an inspiration for architects designing new public and private buildings in the city.

Presentation copy inscribed by Christer Strömholm to Per-Arne Ehlin, a former pupil of Strömholm at the School of Photography (Fotoskolan) run by him 1962-67. Loosely inserted memorabilia from Strömholm's funeral 15 February 2002. First edition of Strömholm's second photo book, which includes his own notes on the photographs edited from a taped interview held at the Hotel Bouquet de Montmartre in Paris. Strömholm's photographic autobiography details his extensive travels in a book constructed as an Existentialist diary, juxtaposing the urbane and the macabre, combining portraiture and street scenes with abstract photographic fragments. 'Poste Restante' was deemed one of the 175 best photo books ever by an international jury in 2004.

The extensive and detailed jury's reports on the contributions to the grand international exhibition held on the Champs-Élysées in Paris from 15 May to 15 November,1855 (another edition with the same contents appeared in two separate volumes). A major national enterprise in France, then newly under the reign of Emperor Napoleon III, the Exposition Universelle followed and attempted to surpass the 'Great Exhibition of Works of Industry of All Nations' held in London in 1851.

Loose as issued in original green cloth portfolio with red lettering "F.R. MARTIN, SIBIRISCHE SAMMLUNG" etc. on front cover. The last plate and its text leaf slightly rumpled/chipped in uppermost and bottom margin respectively, otherwise a very fine copy of this rare publication. F.R. Martin's account of his ethnographical explorations in Siberia in the 1890s. This was Martin's first expedition, funded by a grant from the Swedish Society of Anthropology and Geography. On the first twenty-three plates there are ca 180 photos of Ostyak artefacts from the Yugan area: bows, arrows and quivers, fishing gear, hunting traps, snowshoes, clothes and garments, pouches, cradles, troughs and ladles and other household ware, wooden jars, baskets, woodworking and leathercraft tools, sleighs, harnesses, drums and string instruments, idols and cult objects, drawings on paper, etc. Martin's Siberian expedition incorporated a visit to the museum in Minusinsk, and on the last twelve plates there are ca 220 photos of Bronze Age and earlier objects in the museum, including 190 arrowheads.
