60 full-page photographs by Aenne Biermann, one of the major protagonists of the New Objecivity movement in photography, who died at the young age of 34 shortly after the publishing of this book. The last photograph in the book is a portrait of Franz Roh who has written the text (which appears in German, English and French). The "Fototek" series was a collaboration between Roh and Tschichold - the creators of the 1929 publication Foto-Auge - and several issues were planned but only two were realised, on Moholy-Nagy and Biermann respectively.
