Portraits of North American Indian chiefs and warriors, and some twenty portraits of Buffalo Bill and indian-fighters like General Custer, George Crook, et al. Henry Cross (1837-1918), one of the leading painters of the American West, enjoyed friendships with Buffalo Bill (with whom he had scouted and prospected) and George Armstrong Custer, as well a close acquaintance to Sitting Bull.
