Plain contemporary cloth-back boards in lovely, privately designed and handpainted dust wrappers. Near fine/near fine. Name on front endpaper. Bookplate (V.J. von Holstein Rathlou) on front pastedown.

* This well-preserved copy of Zupitza's famous edition of the Cotton manuscript of Beowulf was given it's dust wrappers by the Danish librarian and philologist Viggo Julius von Holstein Rathlou (1885-1965) who served at the national Library in Aarhus. With his artistic gifts and sense of history, he designed the dust wrappers of this copy.
